With 30 years of experience, Teresa Whitney has notable accomplishments in the management of complex organizations within the healthcare industry. She possesses strong business acumen with the ability to anticipate and analyze needs, develop efficient operations, achieve high standards of clinical quality, and build highly cohesive teams.
In 2009, Ms. Whitney became the Chief Operating Officer for Westchester Health Associates, a multispecialty medical group with locations in New York and Connecticut. Responsible for the operational and financial performance of Westchester Health, Ms. Whitney built the infrastructure needed to support the group as it grew from 30 original members at inception to over 100 providers and nearly $80,000,000 in annual revenue.
In 2017, through the leadership of Ms. Whitney and others on the executive team, Westchester Health Associates joined Northwell Health, New York’s largest healthcare provider. Ms. Whitney was instrumental in this venture, handling due diligence activities for Westchester Health, and successfully navigating Westchester Health’s integration into the Northwell health system. Prior to Westchester Health, Ms. Whitney held management positions within both the private practice and integrated health system settings. Her exceptional interpersonal and communication skills have built solid relationships with physicians, staff, and the public while managing multiple projects and driving change.
Ms. Whitney holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management from Granite State College and a Master of Healthcare Administration from Ohio University. She served on the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Medical Group Management Association for 9 years and served as President in 2016 during which time she helped launch a mentorship program for new practice managers. Ms. Whitney is also a national member of MGMA and a board-certified medical practice executive through the American College of Medical Practice Executives.
